One Year Later

Last week, we quietly celebrated the one year anniversary of my return to blogging. Isn’t that crazy?! Those twelve months went by fast didn’t they?

I want to thank all my readers (yes, even you folk who end up here googling “black sex.” Traffic is traffic dammit!) It has been interesting to say the least. I didn’t know what I wanted to accomplish when I got back into the game. I just knew I wanted to write again.

First, a confession: I’m not really a writer, I just play one on the interwebs.

No seriously, I’m an award winning editor, not writer. There’s a huge difference. You should see all the drafts of future posts I have waiting to be finished. If you look up procrastination in the dictionary it’ll say “see black sex master.”

The Quotes of the Week, by far the most prolific category on the site is a testament to my strength to find and gather elements, as opposed to creating them myself (as an editor of a newspaper would do). But I am definitely proud of my original editorials as well.

Year two will be quite different. It occurred to me I was trying to make this a semi-personal site yet there are hardly any personal posts. This will change very soon.

Also, a lot of people don’t know what it is I actually do (for work). It is the most common question I get. I’ve been so engulfed in sex research for the last seven years, I take for granted most people don’t talk about it as much as I do (let alone get paid for it). We’ll try to fix that as well.

I want to tell you a story (my story), but I have to start from the beginning…

…so everyone buckle up, it’s going to be a bumpy ride.
